Freelance Writing Intro

Not reading this page could cost you over $30,000 this year.

Do you enjoy your job? Do you get up every morning and smile at the sound of your alarm clock? Do you jump out of bed, eager to pull on office clothes, hurry through your breakfast, and jump in your car to commute to work? Do you like spending long hours away from your family and friends? Not having the freedom to check your email, get a manicure, take a bubble bath, or catch up with an old friend during daylight hours? Can you guess that none of those things appealed to me?

My job during that time was as a writer for an Internet company. An online dating site, actually. And after a year or so at very low pay, I switched to another company, just a few blocks away from the first, that was a full-service marketing firm.

This was 1997, so everyone needed a Web site, and we were one of the only companies in our area that could offer full English-language services. I got a lot of experience in a very short time. I built Web sites from scratch (remember, this was back in the day of HTML 1.0, when centering or bolding your text was about as exciting as it got), spearheaded marketing campaigns, and created print collateral (just a fancy word for “marketing materials”) to complement clients’ new images.

My boss told me that I could come back after my maternity leave, but he’d have to pay me less money, because I would obviously be less productive once I was a mother.

I won’t repeat here the words I actually used, but you can probably guess where I told him to stick it. I figured that I had the drive, the determination, and the experience to go freelance. I launched my own business, and I’ve never looked back.

Now some of you are probably already saying, “Wait — you had experience! I don’t have any! How can I do this?”

Relax. I’m going to show you exactly how to start your own successful freelance writing business, step by step. You’ll get all the experience you need by completing the lessons in this course. By the time you finish this course you should already have landed your first paying job.

It’s very important for you to realize that this is NOT a “get rich quick” course. I’m not promising you millions of dollars. But you can earn just as much as you would at an office job — and you can do it in far fewer hours every week. If you really make writing your full-time job, you can make $200,000 a year or more! But even if you only work part time — I work about 4 hours a day, 5 days a week — you can still make around $50,000 a year!

If you’re an at-home mom with young children, freelance writing is a terrific way to make a real income. My daughters are very young — not quite 2 and just over 3. In the morning, we wake up without noisy alarm clocks (My husband leaves for work early. He’s a workaholic. There’s nothing I can do.) and have a leisurely breakfast. Then we walk to preschool (we live in Southern California, so we can walk most days of the year) — they start at 8:30. I drop my girls off, get home by 8:45, take a fresh cup of coffee, and start my workday.

At 12:15 or so, I pick up my girls and bring them home for a nap. While they nap, I finish up my work for the day, have lunch, and check my email one last time. By the time my daughters are up, it’s 2 p.m., and I’m back to being Mom 100%.

If I’m really pressed to meet a tight deadline, I might also work a few hours after my kids go to bed, but most nights, you’ll find me reading a novel or watching sitcoms. I earned almost $30,000 last year — and I took off two months in the middle of the year when my younger daughter needed more time with me. That means that for two months, I did absolutely no work at all. AndI still made more money than a lot of people I know.

You can do it, too. I’m a real person. I goof off when I’m supposed to be working. I don’t always follow all of my own advice — but I’ve still made a profit every single year since I started my freelance writing business. And now I’m going to show you how to do it, too.

Like I said, this is not a “get rich quick” course. But it will teach you the fundamentals of freelance writing and give you the tools to launch and maintain a successful writing business. The course includes a lot of hands-on work for you to do on your own. These assignments are crucial to your success. If you complete them, you’ll be well on your way to your first assignment — and the check that comes with it. If you’re not willing to do any work, then this course isn’t for you. But if you’re not willing to do any work, then probably no course is right for you. Successful businesspeople recognize that some work — even some hard work — is necessary. Trust me, I can waste time with the best of ’em, but these assignments are worth completing.

I teach this course online at Learning Tree University, and if you sign up there, it’ll cost you $175 for a 6-week course. But if you sign up for the downloadable e-book version right here, you’ll only pay $99 — a $76 savings!

What’s the difference? Well, the online course uses a lot of fancy software that provides a real “classroom environment.” Students can interact with each other — and me — in online forums. And I personally grade every single assignment that my students complete.

If you order the e-book version of the course, you’ll save $76. You won’t have the online forum interaction, but to tell you the truth, many of my students find that just when they sign up for the course, something happens. They get sick, they have to go away, their Internet access goes out for a day — whatever. They don’t always take advantage of the forum, and many of them fall behind on the assignments and feel they can’t catch up. You won’t have that problem, because you can work at your own pace. And as part of my introductory offer, I’ve put together a package that I think you’ll really appreciate.

For a limited time, I’ll give any student who completes the e-book course a FREE consultation. Once you’ve polished and perfected your final package, you can send it to me by email, and I’ll send you a written evaluation with suggestions you can put to use immediately to improve your package and increase your profits! If you still have questions after you receive my evaluation, you can schedule a FREE 30-minute phone consultation with me — something my clients gladly pay $250 for!

In addition, if you sign up for the course now, you’ll also get a FREE query letter critique. Successful Freelance Writing walks you through my complete query letter workshop, but it can still be difficult to write your very first query and send it off. And now you can get personal feedback from an experienced writer. Just send your query letter to me, and I’ll be happy to give you a free, written evalution of your work!

You can spend a lot of money on “get rich quick” schemes that will leave you with nothing to show but a big, empty space where your savings used to be. Or you can order Successful Freelance Writing and be making money in just 30 days. Doesn’t it make a lot more sense to invest in a product that’s actually going to earn you money?

If you’re ready to take control of your future — and make your life your own, instead of relying on the mercy of your boss check out the ebooks and resources here: ryanjlima.com or shoot me an email here.
